	At Ringwood Highland Gathering in March, it was announced that the Clan Mackintosh Society Australia Inc. had been named the winners of the Victorian Scottish Union's prestigious M.P.C.S. Encouragment Award for the second time. The Union's chief and representatives of the events' committees, judged the presentation of the tents of the Scottish societies and groups at the five major events in Victoria during the 1998/99 Gathering Season. Points were awarded for the best tent presentation which included the displays, artifacts, and the dress and helpfulness of the volunteer attendants.
The Shield was donated at the end of 1997, by the Mornington Peninsula Caledonian Society who again came a close second. The V.S.U. Chief, George MacNaughton presented the award to our President, Keith McIntosh at the close of the Ringwood Games. Keith and the Mackintosh show the shield which holds pride of place in our display.
