Bundanoon is Brigadoon is possibly the largest Scottish gathering held in Australia! The small village in the NSW Southern Highlands hosts tens of thousands of visitors each year for this special gathering.
The 23rd Annual Gathering, held on 8th April was attended by the Chief of the Clan Macpherson and his wife Lady Sheila. Sir William Macpherson of Cluny as 'Chief of the Day' followed our own Chief, John Mackintosh of Mackintosh who precided in this position at last year's event. Cluny landed in Australia late March and included Perth (Western Australia), Brisbane, Mt Abundance and Gin (Queensland) and Keera (NSW) in his itinerary. Mt Abundance and Keera are closely associated with the exploits of Cluny's grt-grt-grandfather William, and grt-grandfather Allan who were in Australia in the mid 19th century. |
